Community Hope Center
We can no longer wait for the people in need to walk thru the church doors to before we help or minister to them. We must learn to locate and go were the needs are. We are not talking about another country or around the world; I’m talking about this community. We encounter people every day that are in need of a blessing and this ministry allows you the opportunity to do just that.
The goal of this ministry is to share the prosperity of Christians in a way that blesses a giver and a recipient. We will do this by compiling a list of needs and connecting those needs with a sponsor. The sponsors, with our help, will have the tools to fulfill that need. The sponsor will offer time, effort and a passion to reach out and change people’s lives. The needs will range from toys at Christmas to calling new friends at nursing home. There could be a family that needs school clothes or elderly family that needs help with their gas bill. The needs are endless.
Grace ministries will be the support for the new sponsor. We will provide them with information, timetable, and organization from the start to finish. Larger sponsorships will take several hours a week for many weeks but for most a couple hours will complete the entire process. This process creates a one on one atmosphere. This is so we can get the giver and the recipient face to face. This will maximize the impact. This is how lives are changed. This is how we make an impact for Jesus.
So, how do we start?
The first step is to identify the need. This step is surprisingly difficult. For most of us, me included, we view people’s personal situations are a product of their decisions. If they would have made a better decision they would not be in that unfavorable situation. This may be true but it does not mean that the favor of the Lord should not be on them. Just the opposite, these are the people we are trying to reach. These are the people Jesus himself said we should care for. Removing the condemnation for the situation, and looking for opportunities for help, is going to take a conscious effort. We all encounter people everyday that are struggling and need to be blessed. These situations have become so ordinary that we don’t see past the problem to ask the question: How can we bless this person?
This is the only question that needs to be asked. When you can answer that, we have completed the hardest step. At that point we have a sort form to fill out with basic information. This information sheet will identify the name, need and what you would like to see happen to satisfy that need. That’s it. That’s all you need to do. At this point you have set the process in motion for that person to receive a blessing from God thru you. You may not do anything else with this process. You may even submit it anonymous, but you must know without you softening your heart and looking to help those in need, none of this is possible.
After we receive a completed information sheet we will have a short approval process. This process will confirm the need, and ensure we are able to provide adequate services. It is important for all of us to make sure we are able to adequately provide for all needs that we accept.
Once we have approved the request we will add it to our list of needs. This is an ongoing list of needs that is printed bi-weekly for people to look at and see if they are interested in helping, supporting or even sponsoring. This on going list will be updated every other week to inform you on the status of each need. This gives you a unique opportunity to help in many different ways.
You will be able to help by giving money. A lot of our needs are financial based and money is an issue. Financial gifts are accepted and 100% of your giving goes directly to that need. All of our overhead expense, is itself sponsored.
You can help with your expertise. Your skills may be a blessing to someone. Something that seems so easy to you could change someone’s life. Just a few hours of your time may seem nothing to you but everything to that person.
If you don’t have any money and you have no skills you can still help. We are going to have sponsors for each need. A sponsor is like a team captain. A sponsor will take the need, and with our support, handle the process from beginning to end. The sponsor will rally support, make phone calls, go and visit, or wherever it takes to fulfill the need. The sponsor does not need to give any money if they do not want to. All that is needed is a person that is passionate about helping people in need and willing to sacrifice a little time to make it happen.
We, our staff, will provide all the information about the need, help the sponsor with a plan of action, help create a time table, and help provide the tools necessary to fulfill that need. Most of our projects will take about 3-4 hours over 1-2 weeks from start to finish. We will video tape and voice record as many gifts as possible to promote the program, thank the sponsor for listening to calling, and show others how a little time it takes to bless another person.
We have all wondered how could I, little ole me, make an impact on someone’s life? I don’t have the information or I don’t know how. I know I’m supposed to be doing something, but what? This answers all of those questions. The needs will be presented by you. The needs will be fulfilled by you. You don’t need to submit a need to help, just select one of the lists. If you submit a need and don’t want to sponsor, that’s okay. All you need to do pray, soften your hearts, is listen to what you are supposed to do.
Giving is not just about the recipient. It is just as much about the giver. God wants to bless the giver as much as the recipient. Soften you heart. Look for opportunities. Let God bless you by your giving. In our community alone, we can touch hundred of lives annually and restore the true calling of Jesus Christ.
We will change lives. We will spread the prosperity of Jesus Christ to our community. We will remind the community that there are no needs greater than him. We will get back to the basics of what Christians are called to do. Jesus told us to GO. Feed the hungry, take care of the elderly, cloth the poor and bless the children. That’s pretty clear. With this ministry you are given that opportunity. The opportunity to change your life and save a life along the way.
