Global Missions
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives” (Genesis 50:20).
God has a dream, a destiny, and a design for every follower of Jesus. Our destiny is always beyond us. If we can accomplish the dream of our hearts merely with our own resources, skills and timetables, then God is probably not in it. He always calls us to stretch our faith! He wants the words, “but God” to be the theme of our personal journey. Overwhelming obstacles, but God. Closed doors, but God. Financial mountains, but God. As the scripture says, our sovereign God’s intentions for us are always good, and His purpose is always harvest. “…the saving of many lives.” God’s divine mandate is to take the gospel to the world.
We believe that God wants Bellevue Grace Assembly to become a great missions sending church. To do this we must formulate a plan. A vision with out a plan is a plan to fail. So we want to aggressively go after the vision that we believe God has given us for our church. We need your help. Our focus in missions is threefold:
PRAY. Prayer links us to the most exciting aspects of ministry. Paul says, “many will give thanks… for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.” There is an inseparable link between prayer and effective missions.
GIVE. We have a Missions Fund and a Missions Budget. Where I cannot go, I can send. When I cannot go, others can go. Where no one can go, radio and TV signals can go. Our missions budget will be set each year by the congregation through “faith promises” made at the conclusion of our Missions Convention. A Faith Promise is an amount between the Lord and us about what he wants to provide for us to give, beyond what we can see. Faith Promises happen when an individual asks the Lord how much He would have him/her give. This commitment is made in faith because it is intended to be over and above the regular tithe. (A tithe is 10 percent of our income.) This helps us recognize when the Lord directs funds our way and that this is not an unusual windfall for us to spend, but in fact, it is the answer to the faith promise to be directed towards missions. You give to missions by putting special offerings in the Missions Envelopes (cash only; when writing a check an envelope is unnecessary as long as you designate correctly on your check) or by designating it on your personal check. This is the only way you give money directly to missions. If you are already giving occasionally, take time to pray and ask God if you should increase the amount of your giving and, if so, by how much. As finances are available, we either look for new missionaries to support or look at increasing the amount we give our present missionaries. Download a faith promise card here.
GO. Our vision is to see people come to know Jesus Christ. From short-term global mission trips to local community outreach efforts, Bellevue Grace is committed to making an eternal impact on our community, our nation and our world by sharing the gospel. “For God so loved the World… because every soul matters.”
